Dropped Koran Leads to Mob Violence in New Delhi

There are undoubtedly a lot of 9/11 posts out there today, some deeply emotional, some cavalier, even dismissive.  Some perhaps actively cynical.  And then there are the Truthers.

I believe that this date will always be a significant one in the hearts and minds of those who lived through those hours of disbelief and horror.  I belief that we should never forget those who died, or those who did the killing.  I agree with Jeff that we shouldn’t become mired in that one day, or allow it to continue to define us, or we risk becoming as ideologically myopic as those against whom we fight.  But I also agree with those who, even six years later, cannot quite bring themselves to see September 11th as just another day.

These are all rational, human responses.  And then there are the Truthers.

I just don’t understand these people.  Ace has a collection of videos from that day, showing the strike on the second tower.  I don’t see how you can watch a full-sized airliner, plow full-speed into the middle of the building, see the giant gaping hole in the side, or how it burned for nearly an hour, and suggest that it took anything more than that to cause massive structural failure. To suggest that, not only did our government plan and condone the attacks, but wired the towers to blow as a backup to the plane strikes.  Or that someone fired a cruise missile at the Pentagon.

Or that the hundreds of passengers on those planes didn’t really die, and are in some witness protection programs somewhere.  Or, even worse, that the passengers DID die, just not on the planes…if you know what I mean.

So, I guess my suggestion for rememberance on this day is to remember who the enemy is.  No, sorry to say, the enemy is not George Bush.  Or Ted Kennedy.  Or Nancy Pelosi or Dick Cheney.

The enemy is those who would seek to destroy this country, who want to kill its citizens, and force it to conform to their way of life by violence and coercion.

The Truthers want you to believe that “The Administration” is every bit as much to blame as Al Qeada.  Perhaps more so.   I say these people need help.  And they distract from the real issue.

As a nation we became complacent.  We became conceited.  We saw ourselves as untouchable.  And we were proven wrong.  Let’s not forget that.

But more importantly, let’s not forget that with great power, comes great responsibility, to both the world, and to our citizenry.  Our position of leadership and strength is a stewardship, one which we must wield with the greatest of discernment, courage, and equanimity.

We did not “deserve” 9/11, as some would suggest.  No more that we deserved to have the barracks in Beruit bombed, or the Cole attacked.  The radical muslims do not hate us for what we are, but for what we aren’t.  We aren’t them.  We don’t want to BE them.  And so, we are the enemy.

So while this sober stewardship we hold should lead us to consider the ramifications and impacts of our actions, so also does it place a burden on our leaders to ensure the welfare and common defense of this nation.   We cannot allow a misguided sense of cultural or racial guilt to place us in a position of vulnerability.  Caution and considered action should not translate into squeamishness or cowardice.  9/11 was not a righteous judgement, but a wake up call to the costs of appeasement and capitulation.

We do not have to be brutal, but we must remain strong.  We can remain compassionate, without becoming soft.  We must remain vigilant, without becoming paranoid.  We must remain morally certain, without becoming imperious.

I would suggest, as well, that it would be deeply to our credit to refuse to give wackos like the Truthers the time of day.  Instead of thoughtful consideration or shrugging indifference, we need to laugh these wierdos off the stage.  These people are a cult, and should be treated as such.  They are not speaking the truth to power….they are waiting for the mothership to come in the tail of the next comet and beam them up.

Never forget….but remember the truth.

I saw this link via LGF of a Perdue university computer model of what really happened in the Twin Towers massacre on 9/11.  It’s very compelling.

Watching that, you wonder how those buildings stayed up as long as they did.  It’s like someone coming up and breaking half your ribs and cutting half your tendons and then seeing how long you can remain standing.  Oh, and they jab a lit road flare into your stomach.   I couldn’t watch that and not wonder what it must have been like for the people on those few floors.  A lot probably died instantly.  It’s the rest your really don’t want to think about.

And, buy the way of linkage instead of bloggage, I bring you this link, of a Gay Pride Parade in Sao Paulo, Brazil.  For the faint of of heart, or those with small children around, I’ve put the rest after the jump:

British Court Finds Muslim Father Guilty of Murdering Daughter in ‘Honor Killing’

A father who ordered his daughter brutally slain for falling in love with the wrong man in a so-called “honor killing” was found guilty of murder on Monday.

Banaz Mahmod, 20, was strangled with a boot lace, stuffed into a suitcase and buried in a back garden.

Just so we’re clear, this is the Muslim/Sharia concept of “honor.”  By their own definition.  This is not, nor hopefully ever shall be, a western paradigm.

You know, like “Honor thy father and mother.”  “Death before dishonor.”  “Love, honor, and obey.”

Not strangle with a shoelace because you don’t like their choice of boyfriends or lipgloss.

Imagine his surpise when he was arrested for only doing what he thought was right?  I can only imagine what his defense in court was.  Something like, “Da ho jus needed killin’, yo.

Why do I continue to post articles like these, accompanied by such intolerant and exlusionary language?

Because of people like Nancy Pelosi, who want to make kissy-face with people like the Syrians.  Because the UN routinely condemns Israel, while pouring money into Palestine.  Because we are lambasted with images of wailing widows and dusty toys in ruined streets when Israel defends itself against terrorist rocket attacks, but let Hamas and Fatah blast the ever-loving shit out of each other, shooting up hospitals and schools without a second thought, and it’s just another ho-hum news day.

Let me be straight.  ARAB culture has a lot going for it.  There is a long and proud history of contributions by many Arab scholars and statesmen, dating back thousands of years.  I’ve got no problem or beef with your average, everyday, run-o-the-mill Arab joe.

It’s the evil and corrupt strain of Islam which has poisoned so much of the Arab world which churns my guts.  Sharia law and the likes of Al Q’aida and the Taliban have destroyed whatever might once have been good in that culture.

What’s worse, those Arabs and Muslims who might want to stand against such a tide are essentially powerless against the fervor and maniacal, murderous rage of those who cry for the death of infidels.

And they are bringing their madness here.  Their honor killings, their fatwahs and their oppressive, burdensome laws.  It’s happening in Britain, it’s happening in France and all over Europe, and it’s starting to happen here.

It has to be stopped.  And it will be stopped by people like me who highlight the madness, people who write and speak and stand together to say, “NO. Not here. Not in MY country, damnit!”  While some fight in the streets of Baghdad or the mountains of Afghanistan, others fight in the editorial pages and halls of the legislature.

It will be stopped by people who aren’t afraid to just flat laugh in their faces when they want to get all huffy because they have to ring up a hamhock at the checkout stand.  Don’t like it?  Find another job.

They will NOT be stopped, however, by spineless, weak-willed store owners and other employers who cave in to every stint of righteous indignation and threat of a fatwah or lawsuit.  It will not be stopped by traitorous lawmakers who would rather appease than oppose.

And it will not be stopped if we turn a blind eye, soft-pedal or sugar coat what it really is we are facing here.  It is a clash of cultures, a clash of civilization against ravening hordes who seek our undoing.

We cannot afford to blink.

Militants throw rivals off high-rise Gaza buildings

Now, I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I get this vague sort of sense that these people are, what’s the word….COMPLETE $#@&^%! ANIMALS!

Again, not being possessed of an incredible amount of mental acuity, I must profess some confusion at CNN’s continued choice of appellatives when describing these aforementioned douchebags.

“Militants.”  Let that sort of roll around your tongue.  Milllllitaaannnts.

Folks, “militants” do not throw people off high-rise buildings.  Murdering thugs do.  If Vinnie and Luigi took a bookie who was into Mr. Gione for 100 large, and tossed him offa the veranda of a luxury suite at the MGM Grand, such that he had a sudden impact with the parking lot, would one then be inclined to describe the aforementioned knee-breakers as “militants?” No?  What if they put CSI Las Vegas on the case?  And say, perhaps, the intrepid dectectives nabbed ol’ Vinnie and Luigi, would the charges against these gentleman refer to them being “militants?”  Or, would they be charged with murder?  1st degree, eminently premeditated murder?

Is there anything left in the Mass Media lexicon which rises to the level of terrorism anymore?  “Militants” perform all manner of perverse and appalling atrocities, and yet the best the world’s media can come up with is a milquetoast label like militant.  These are murdering bastards.  Human filth. Nothing more than feral throwbacks to a primordial stage of evolution.  It’s law of the jungle, kill or be killed.  But kill, regardless.

Yet the pacifist, capitulationist movements of the western world would have us “understand” the Muslim.  Embrace his culture.  Enable his worldview at the expense of our own.

If I wanted to embrace the Islamic culture, I’D MOVE TO AN ISLAMIC COUNTRY.  However, I DON’T want to “appreciate” the finer points of Sharia law…

THAT’S WHY I LIVE HERE!  Looking around the world at all the places that have been turned into festering cesspools of oppression, hate and murder by the adherents to Sharia law and Islamic teachings, can you understand why I might be a little less than tolerant of getting the same crap rammed down my throat by a bunch of affirmative action beatniks here at home?

Whether it is the Sunni’s killing Shiites, or Hamas killing Fatah, it’s really just the Hatfields and the McCoys, who been killin’ each uther fer so long that no one even ‘members how it all got started;  but it’s all they’ve ever known, so it’s all they know how to do.

Count me out, thanks.

…and maybe I’m a little too quick to jump onto the “bash-the-mainstream-media” bandwagon, but I find it interesting that in the MSNBC online article:

Contractors shot execution style, officials say

that the one of the accompanying graphics, though for an “unrelated” incident, turns out to be this one:

A photo of four iraqi men, on the ground, hands tied, one blindfolded, being approached by soldiers from behind.

Now, I know that’s SOP for dealing with suspected insurgents, but I just find it an interesting confluence of headline with associated imagery.

But, like I say, I’m probably just being overly cynical.

A comment I made in my last post about a Master Race mentality has been brewing and stewing in my mind all weekend.  Mostly because I’ve realized that even that while the comment was made in passing, with even an air of flippancy about it, it still hit the nail right on the head.

The militant, arrogant, defiant, and increasingly demanding nature of the international Islamic culture, with its overweening sense of entitlement and in many ways elitist sense of moral superiority is disturbingly reminiscent of the sense of racial and cultural pride found in the Japanese imperialism of the late 19th and early 20th century.  There is an almost aryan-like sense of some sort of inherent elevation above the “infidel”, much like that present in the Nazi party in the 30’s and 40’s.

There, now I’ve done it.  I’ve compared militant islam to Nazi fascism.  Let the fatwahs begin, eh?

Consider the word “infidel.”  Infidel, at its core, means “unclean.” An unbeliever.  Something less-than.  By branding someone as an infidel, you dehumanize them, you set them outside the realm of compassion or mercy, and thereby justify all manner of abuses and atrocities in the name of “cleansing” the world of this stain.  An infidel becomes sub-human, something to be shunned and avoided.

Sound vaguely familiar, somehow?  The imperial Japanese viewed other races, particularly the Koreans, as subhuman.  As fit only for servile manual labor, or a sex slaves.  Western POWs during WWII were treated like caged animals, as property to be disposed of as wished.  The Nazis clearly held the same view towards Jews, Gypsies, Blacks, and any other race deemed “subhuman.”  They were the Nazi’s infidels.  These views were what led to to the Battan Death March, Samurai beheadings, and the Chlorine Showers and the murderous ovens of Dachau and Auschwitz.

So what is it that, at its core, has led to ethnic cleansing in Darfur and Sudan?  What has led to the Fatwahs and Jihads against “infidels” and “unbelievers?”  What has led to the death squads and beheadings in Iraq?  What has justified the gassing of Kurds or the slaughter of Christians in Indonesian and Africa?

Global Islam sees itself as a Master Race.

Our media and progressive apologists tend to paint islamicists as downtrodden freedom fighters or as misunderstood devotees who just want to worship in peace.  I agree.  They are misunderstood.  They are too often looked at as a religious minority, as a special interest group fighting for credibility in the big pool of religions.  We sometimes misunderstand the true nature of what we are facing.

As individuals, they are just people.  Just as the individual Japanese or German were okay guys and gals.  But when added to a cultural collective, when whipped into a frenzy of cultural fervency, built to a fevered pitch by a gifted orator such as a Goebbels, the grand Imam of the Nazi party, then the individual identity begins to give way to the racial identity.   Once the individual identity gets lost to the grand collective vision of supremacy and conquest, all bets are off.

Worse still, there becomes a cultural “right answer.”  A self-policing party line which bears no dissent, and variation from which is met with often violent retribution.  The more fervent the devotion to the approved and accepted meme, the greater the rewards to the individual.  The more prestige, the more power.  Thus the incentive to not only conform, but to innovate, and add progressively more stringent and demanding standards, all in the name of cultural purity.  Again, ringing any bells here?

The Global War on Terror is not about revenge for 9/11.  It’s not about an eye for an eye.  It’s not even about eradicating the Taliban.  It’s about fighting against the same sort of Master Race mentality that made the Imperial Japanese and Nazi Germany a threat to our people and our way of life.  We are the infidels.  We are the subhumans to the Islamic sense of racial elitism.

And we will be dealt with accordingly.  Unless we understand our enemy.

Don’t soft-coat his agenda in the name of tolerance.  Don’t minimize abuses by calling the guilty a “fringe.”  And don’t dismiss or marginalize the alarmist who dares to paint the threat with a realistic brush, rather than whitewash the danger in the name of capitulation and “dialogue.”

Whizit that if some Muslim gets “offended” by the swirling design on top of a McDonalds ice cream cup, or screams bloody murder about DISCRIMINATION if an airline looks twice or doesn’t treat them like VIP china dolls, the collective “We” are supposed to grovel and accede to their every demand out of penance for our intolerance….

…but somehow, some Muslims still feel free to glorify child suicide and call Jews “pigs” who will go to Hell?

Fury at Australia cleric comments

Sheikh Feiz Mohammed, who has spent the past year living in Lebanon, talks on the controversial videotapes of his desire for children be offered “as soldiers defending Islam”.

“Teach them this,” he says, “that there is nothing more beloved to me than wanting to die as a Muhajid.

“Put in their soft, tender heart the zeal of jihad and the love of martyrdom.”

It takes a village and all that, eh?

Australia’s Islamic Friendship Association president, Keysar Trad, said the remarks did not reflect the views of the wider Muslim community.

“They certainly give the public an erroneous impression about Islam and Muslims,” he said.

Now THAT’S what I call a strongly-worded condemnation!  Whew!  The bile!  The virulence!  The outrage!

Ah, yet another “fringe” cleric.  Ho. Hum.  It seems to me that Islam has more fringes than a Vegas Elvis impersonator.

Sheikh Taj el-Din al-Hilali caused a storm of protest after comparing scantily-dressed women to “uncovered meat”, comments he said were taken out of context.

He hit the headlines again recently when he told Egyptian television that Muslim Australians had more rights to the country than white Australians whose ancestors arrived as convicts.

And there you have it, folks.  Muslims are “entitled” to Australia. Because….uh, because…uh…just because they are so morally superior.  So therefore, they can exert the relgious equivalent of eminent domain?  Got it.  Sounds a bit like a “master race” mentality, eh?

So, when will they up and deport this douchebag?

U.S. Toll in Iraq Surpasses That of 9/11

So. Freakin’. What?!

It’d be an interesting study to see if, during WW II, ANYONE kept tabs on when US casualties exceeded that suffered at Pearl harbor?

This statistic might only have relevance if the attacks on Afghanistan or Iraq were billed solely as retributional, or an eye-for-an-eye.  Which they weren’t.

Otherwise, it’s just a catchy tagline, another imaginary “grim milestone” designed to infuse further controversy in an already tragic enough situation.

A little old, and I don’t know if this is for real, but if it ain’t, then it oughta be.  And I think maybe a few of OUR politicians oughta take it to heart as well.

“Three Cheers for Australia” (circulating the Internet)

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks. A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown.

Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state and its laws were made by parliament. “If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you,” he said on national television. “I’d be saying to clerics who are teaching  that there are two laws governing people in Australia, one the  Australian law and another the Islamic law, that is false. If you can’t agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law and have the opportunity to go to another country, which practices it, perhaps, then, that’s a better option,” Costello said. Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to the other country.

Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should “clear off”. “Basically, people who don’t want to be Australians, and they don’t want to live by Australian values and understand them, well then they can basically clear off,” he said.

Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation’s mosques. Quote: “IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take it or Leave It.  I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.”

“However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the ‘politically correct’ crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Australia. However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. This idea of Australia being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity we are Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom. We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language.”

“Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language! Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push but a fact because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.”

“We will accept your beliefs and will not question why, all we ask is that you accept ours and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us. If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don’t like “A Fair Go”, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don’t care how you did things where you came from. By all means keep your culture but do not force it on others. This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining,  and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, ‘THE RIGHT TO LEAVE’. If you aren’t happy here then LEAVE. We didn’t force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.”
